Introducing the DAS1800 high data rate recorder

09/26/2024 14:28:00

The DAS1800 is manufactured by B&K Precision, and is a completely new design compared to its predecessors. So let's go into the details in the article below to see what improvements this model has!

Overview of DAS1800

With more input module slots, the performance of the DAS1800 is significantly improved, the weight is lighter, and the storage capacity is also increased for long-term high-speed measurement data recording.

Not to mention, the redesigned user interface is quite easy to use and fully integrated with time-saving features. The functionality of the DAS1800 can also be expanded with factory options such as an integrated Li-Ion battery that provides up to 3.5 hours of operation and protection against power failure.

Improvements in both design and features compared to previous versions

Diverse slots

Matching the number of channels and measurement types in a test plan to the manufacturer's product can sometimes be difficult, resulting in wasted costs on unused channels.

However, with 10 input module slots and 4 or 8 channel module options, the DAS1800 offers options that help users easily customize the number of channels for each type of measurement. Users can also take advantage of empty slots and quickly reconfigure modules as testing needs change, ensuring time savings and optimized performance.

Available input modules:

- D18-UNI4:

4-channel isolated universal input module for measuring voltage up to 600 VDC or 424 VRMS, temperature with thermocouples or current (with shunt) at up to 1 MSa/sec/channel

- D18-HIZ4:

High impedance version of the UNI4 module with 10 MΩ for range ≥ ±1 V and 25 MΩ for range ≤ ±0.5mV

- D18-MUX8:

8-channel non-isolated differential input module for measuring voltage up to ±48V, temperature by thermocouple and RTD, current 4-20 mA (with shunt) and resistance up to 10kΩ

Maximize data recording and storage

Running out of storage space can disrupt long-term tests, and having to delete or transfer files is not the right choice. The S1800 now comes with a standard 2TB SSD, so users can record hours of data at the full 1 MSa/s sampling rate.

Intuitive interface, easy to use

With a 15.6-inch Full HD multi-touch display and a redesigned user interface, the DAS1800 makes it easier for you to analyze recorded data. Tabs along the top of the interface are arranged to support common workflows, and the touchscreen makes it easy to navigate with just a finger. The DAS1800 also offers time-saving tools like one-finger scrolling, pinch-to-zoom, one-click automatic measurement, and cursors for analyzing recorded data.

Easy to carry anywhere:

Weight is quite a problem when you want to carry testing equipment to remote locations. As for the DAS1800, with the built-in Li-Ion battery option weighing just 15 pounds and the 3-module system weighing less than 20 pounds, you can easily move it around without feeling bulky or heavy.
Conclude:

Above is some basic information about the DAS1800 high-speed data recorder. For more details, please contact us.

What is the required TDS level for shrimp ponds?
06/12/2026 14:26:27

What is the ideal TDS level for a shrimp tank? Many people spend a lot of time monitoring pH, temperature, and filtration systems but overlook TDS. Only when shrimp grow slowly, their colors fade, they have difficulty molting, or die off sporadically do they start checking their water source and discover that this indicator has long been out of the right range

Signs that the electrodes in your TDS meter are degraded and need replacing
06/12/2026 11:43:51

TDS meters can operate reliably for many years, but the electrodes are the most subject to wear and tear. Each time a measurement is taken, the sensor surface comes into direct contact with water, dissolved minerals, and various other chemical components. This continuous process means the electrode's responsiveness gradually decreases over time.

Can metal detectors locate underground pipes and cables?
06/10/2026 19:17:37

Metal detectors operate on the principle of passive electromagnetic induction and can only detect isolated metal objects such as gold, copper, and iron. These devices cannot trace utility paths because they cannot differentiate the direction or depth of long, buried continuous pipes. For insulated electrical cables or plastic pipes, metal detectors are completely ineffective as there is no AC current to generate a magnetic field. Furthermore, the detection depth of standard consumer metal detectors is typically limited to 1 - 2 meters for small objects, whereas underground utility lines are often buried 3 - 5 meters deep or even more.
