First, prioritize contact thermometers, meaning those with a metal probe that plugs directly into the water. This method provides a stable display, unaffected by external heat. Models with clear displays are easier to monitor while cooking.

Another point is durability. Since the thermometer is frequently used with boiling water, the probe needs to be sturdy and heat-resistant. The handle should also be comfortable and not get hot to the touch during use.

Regarding safety, avoid glass thermometers. They are prone to cracking or breaking when exposed to high temperatures or sudden temperature changes. They are less convenient for long-term use compared to electronic thermometers with metal probes.

How to measure the temperature of boiling water

Just prepare a water thermometer; the process is very simple.

When the water starts boiling vigorously, turn on the thermometer and insert the probe into the water. There's no need to immerse it too deeply; about 2-3 cm is enough to get the water temperature.

Hold it still for a few seconds to allow the numbers on the screen to stabilize, then remove the probe and check the result. After a few tries, you'll be able to operate it quickly and easily.

Clean the probe before use, especially when measuring drinking water or food.

Check the battery before use to avoid the device shutting off during measurement.

After measurement, the probe will still be hot, so do not touch the metal part directly.
